How To Get Involved: Earth Day 2016
Now that you’ve soaked up all things National Parks, you can end the week with Earth Day. This Friday, April 22nd and going into the weekend, there are plenty of ways to get involved cleaning up, volunteering, and showing your true green nature. Here’s your go-to resource guide of family friendly Earth Day festivities in or around the Bay.
This comprehensive website has everything you need to figure out what you plan on doing this weekend. The visual breakdown of events is the easiest to search through, in my opinion.
Outdoor Voice, a leader in investing in the natural wonders of our environment and helping us be more aware of them through our own experiences outdoors, has a section on their website dedicated to Earth Day. There are trail clean-ups and tree plantings categorized by region and signing up for one job might be hard to do with all the choices.
In a recent article by KQED, there is some good background information on Earth Day, it’s purpose and how it began as a national movement. There are also some events to take part of that they list at the end.
For some kid-friendly Earth Day events around the Bay, head over to Bay Area Kid Fun for a plethora of FREE fun.
